The last few years, for various reasons, I have not been able to attend nearly as many shows I would have loved to. This year, however, I was able to get in close to 15 (it really could have been 25). 2012 was just a jam-packed year of shows. In order, this is my list of the best five I attended.

Another very strong year. I actually had a hard time paring my list down to this. There were quite a few albums I would have included, but I tried limiting the number as my list was rapidly approaching 50 albums. These are not in any order.

Well, 2012 was a good year for movies, but in an unusual way—more so than any other of the past 15 or so years, I feel like nearly everything I’ve seen this year has been at least pretty good.
