Touring behind their hit album, Going to Hell, the band was tight and fiery, and performed a blistering set.

St. Louis native and lead singer of The Pretty Reckless Taylor Momsen and her cohorts rocked the stage of The Pageant in The Delmar Loop on Thursday night. Touring behind their hit album, Going to Hell, the band was tight and fiery, and performed a blistering set.
As the band opened with hit single “Follow Me Down,” Momsen approached the microphone with a snakelike slither, and sang her heart out. She is not only beautiful, but has a killer voice and knows how to use it. The band delivered songs from not only the new CD, but also the first EP and first full-length, Light Me Up.
The Pageant was packed for this show, as I expected it would be. TPR has been on the climb since the release of this album. Playing tracks from the new album, including “Sweet Things,” “Why’d Ya Bring a Shotgun to the Party,” and the first single from the LP, “Heaven Knows,” the band was in great form, bringing the album to life.
Going back to its earlier releases, TPR raged on the track “Makes Me Wanna Die,” the first song ever released by the group. And although they had several amplifier problems, the snafu was soon fixed and they blazed into “Absolution,” and the album’s title track, “Going to Hell”
This was a fantastic show. Along with TPR, we were treated to the two opening bands, Crash Midnight, who hail from Austin, Texas, and Adelitas Way, who played a riveting set of pure hard rock, and has a bright future, indeed.
Overall, The Pretty Reckless was pretty hot. | Marc Farr
