While the movie is about as good as it could have possibly gotten under the circumstances, here it is perhaps just mediocre at best.
I tend to prefer David Cronenberg when he’s heavier on action and lighter on psychological fare.
It’s a promising beginning, whetting our appetite for a western with all the trimmings we’ve come to expect from the classics, including grand moral themes, stunning landscapes and lots of action. But…
