One song seamlessly segues into another, allowing you to pop the CD in at a party and get your groove on without having to change discs.Ministry of Sound and Ultra Records team up once again to get your butts on the dance floor with what they consider to be the crème de la crème of dance music. The double CD set is jam-packed with tons of sensational club/dance remixes, so let’s get right to the good stuff.
Kicking off the fun with one of America’s favorite Idols, Kelly Clarkson, the collection sets the bar high with her smash single, “Since U Been Gone [Jason Nevins Radio Edit].” This song has been one of Clarkson’s signature singles, setting her apart from the other Idol contestants. Freemasons and Hi_Tack keep the energy pumping with their smash singles, “Love on My Mind [Club Mix]” and “Say Say Say (Waiting 4 U),” respectively.
One of the high points on disc one has to be Bodyrockers scorching hit, “I Like The Way.” This sexy single not only will get people moving and grooving, it was also featured in the televised Victoria’s Secret 2005 Runway Show—now that is sexy!
Other notable and enjoyable tracks on the first disc are Dave McCullen’s “B*tch,” Stunt’s hypnotic “Raindrops [DST-7 Remix],” and Cascada’s sultry “Everytime We Touch.” With so much talent crammed on the first disc, I was afraid that the second disc would fall flat.
Much to my surprise—and relief—the second disc sizzles even more than its precursor. NYC legend, David Morales and Angela Hunte set the standard with “Feels Good [Stonebridge Club Remix].” Moby’s “Dream About Me [Sebastian Ingrosso Remix]” seems to be slightly out of place with its hard techno thumping, but it manages to keep the party rolling all the same.
One of the best tracks on the second disc—let alone the entire collection—has got to come from Steve Mac vs. Mosquito with “Lovin’ You More (That Big Track) [Freemason Vocal Club Mix].” The beats are funky, the lyrics are light and crisp, and the groove is undeniably fresh. Even the most rhythm-challenged, straight white boy could get his cabbage patch on to this infectious gem.
The beauty of this collection is how one song seamlessly segues into another, allowing you to pop the CD in at a party and get your groove on without having to change discs. The only downfall I found on both CDs is how the songs are arranged. Both start and end with a bang but seem to get lost in a trance somewhere in the middle. While the collection is highly enjoyable, the order of songs might have been better selected to give a nice even feel to the overall production.
The bottom line is this: If you are looking for a compilation of the hottest dance tracks, your search is over. The Ministry of Sound and Ultra Records have done the legwork for you—just put in the disc and bust any move you want.|
