Any song that references The Rocky Horror Picture Show gets high marks from me.

In no particular order, these are the songs I kept coming back to in 2016.
Night Riots: “Breaking Free”
Synth pop at its finest, this song makes me want to be a better person.
Muddy Magnolias: “Why Don’t You Stay?”
Breathy vocals of two overly talented singers transport me to musical nirvana.
NOFX: “I’m a Transvet-Lite”
Any song that references The Rocky Horror Picture Show gets high marks from me.
Tamela Mann: “One Way”
Christian R&B with a rock vibe…almost makes me want to believe.
The Hunna: “You & Me”
The chorus makes my head bounce from side to side, and the vibe make me stop hating humans.
Prophets of Rage: “The Party’s Over”
Truer words have never been spoken.
Moguai & Benny Benassi: “Gangster”
This slamming track makes me miss my rave days—that is, if I would have ever been cool enough to go to an actual rave.
DOROTHY: “Gun in My Hand”
Dorothy Martin’s vocals and exemplary lyrics made me an insta-fan from the first second.
Brandy Clark: “Girl Next Door”
Clark’s lyrics on this track deserve an award of the highest caliber. I carpool karaoke this track to death.
Fly Moon Royalty: “Tips and Hairflips”
While the band has called it quits, this track is a must-play for all strip clubs. Hell, it got me to shake my fat ass.
