Madonna is gearing up for a highly anticipated comeback with a fresh dance album slated for 2026, cementing her reunion with Warner Records—the very label that catapulted her legendary career into the stratosphere.
A Sequel to a Classic Dance Album
The upcoming project is poised to channel the spirit of her 2005 masterpiece, Confessions on a Dancefloor. The Queen of Pop dropped hints about this next venture late last year, revealing her close collaboration with Stuart Price, the mastermind producer behind much of that original album’s magic. Earlier in 2025, she solidified plans for a Confessions 2 follow-up, promising a return to the pulsating dance sound that dominated one of her most triumphant periods.
This marks Madonna’s first studio effort since 2019’s experimental Madame X. The album title and precise release date remain under wraps for now.
Reunion with Warner Records
Just as noteworthy is Madonna’s choice to unleash her new album through Warner Records—the same label that housed her artistry for the first quarter-century of her groundbreaking career. Reflecting on the deal, Madonna looked back at her transformation from a scrappy New York City artist to global phenomenon.

A Storied History with Warner
Madonna’s Warner journey began back in 1982 when she inked her deal with Sire Records, operating under Warner’s expansive umbrella. This partnership birthed numerous game-changing albums: Like a Virgin (1985), Like a Prayer (1989), and the critically acclaimed Ray of Light (1998). During this golden era, she also established her own imprint, Maverick.
Her original Warner chapter closed after 2008’s Hard Candy. She then ventured into a comprehensive 360 deal with Live Nation and forged a three-album alliance with Interscope Records, part of Universal Music Group’s roster. Interscope shepherded her recent trilogy: MDNA (2012), Rebel Heart (2015), and Madame X (2019).
Catalog Consolidation and Reissues
Madonna severed ties with Interscope in 2020, and by 2021 she revealed her Warner Records homecoming plans. This arrangement consolidates her entire catalog, bringing all her music—including those three Interscope releases—under Warner’s roof by 2025.
While new material wasn’t announced initially, Warner launched an ambitious reissue campaign. In 2022, celebrating her 40th career milestone, Madonna unveiled Finally Enough Love, a remix compilation honoring her 50 number-one dance chart victories. Most recently, this July brought Veronica Electronica, an archival remix album tied to Ray of Light that had been gathering dust for 27 years.
