This song is lovely. It begins with falsetto, and then slides into vocalist Olen Kittelsen’s smooth, soulful sound. The music is simple yet catchy, with a nonflashy blend of the basics: guitar, bass, synths, and drums. It’s a song about dreaming, achieving, believing—and losing. “I’d like to think we had it all,” Kittelsen sings, “and now we’re back to genesis.”
The trio from Orange County put out a five-song EP, Collisions, in 2015. “Genesis” is the new single-teaser in advance of a full-length due later this year.
