I fully intended on watching my first Daniel Johnston show without the distraction of making a story of the performance and documenting everything. Before the show, I tried to find some recent set lists and get a sense if the performance would be piano-driven, would be backed by a full-band, and if Johnston would play his guitar; to no avail.

Johnston started with a few solo numbers. I asked the openers The Office, who backed Johnston in the second half of the show, what the second song was called, and he said it was a new one. Johnston made for an awesome frontman and the highlight came when he told the audience his recent dream about being sentenced to death for trying to commit suicide, to which he pleaded, "No...No...."
