Maiden in the Morning

| Print |

There's no better complement to the caffeine than Iron Maiden in the morning. No matter what side of the night you're seeing the day break, the best way to greet the day is with some Maiden. I know my neighbors must think I'm mad, but what can I say? I'm a product of the Metal Age - a time long ago of Reaganomics, cold war, and cold women. If you're burnt out on the old classics but love the sound, check out the lesser-known "Infinite Dreams" off of Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.Besides being a window into Steve Harris' view on existentialism, it also has an excellent example of Bruce Dickinson's Spinal tap-esque diction. You have to admire how he won't sacrifice proper pronunciation just to get two lines to rhyme. MTV may try to get me to renounce my '80s roots, but I'll never let them take my Maiden away. | Derek Lauer
