Skaters, tattoo artists, and punk rockers take over San Francisco on May 8th.
On May 8th San Francisco will be host to the “City Underground Fest,” a day full of skateboarding, tattoos, and punk rock.
Starting at 10 am, the World Cup Skating competition kicks off the festival at the Fort Mason Center. Judges of the competition include Matt Milligan, Dave Duran, Mike Crum and Toad. They will be selecting a winner from 35 of the country's best amateur skaters. In addition to a $2,000 prize, the winner has the chance to compete in the World Cup Pro contest. Ben Hatchell, winner of the Tampa AM 2010, and 34 others will be battling for the title.
Throughout the skating competition, Out to Sea Tattoo Care will be presenting the Tattoo Compound. Fest goers can browse artists, get inked, and enter either the “Best Tattoo” or the “Worst Tattoo” contest. Winners of both categories will win awesome prizes.
At the conclusion of the skating event, The Adolescents start the music portion of the festival. Beginning at 4 pm and going until 11.30 pm, legendary bands La Plebe, The Ataris, Circle Jerks, and headliners Face to Face will be bringing the rock.
General admission tickets are only $20 and VIP (offering a better view of the skaters and a bar. Bonus!) are $50.
